Weekender Community House Rules

    Weekender Community House Rules

    The following rules define acceptable behaviour in the Weekender Community. Behaviour can be monitored by any member (who may report and control misbehaviour by using the "Report this" facility) as well as the Weekender Community Manager and Butlins representatives, who will respond appropriately.

    Please do not read or post messages unless you agree to abide by these rules, which may be changed at any time, without notice, and should be checked periodically. Continued use of the Weekender Community signifies your ongoing agreement to these terms.

    Style

    1  Members may not shout at other members by posting in all capital letters.
    2  Please take care with humour that might work verbally, but may seem abusive or mean when in typescript.
    3  Members should present opinions and positions in a tactful and moderate fashion.
    4  Please consider your use of language for those whose first language is not English.

    Manners

    1  Always exchange ideas in a civil and measured manner and avoid "flames" (aggravating and/or mean-spirited posts).
    2  Try to assume good will, and hold fire on the assumption that most misunderstandings arise from the text-based format of the discussion rather than from negative intent on the part of others.
    3  Practice good posting manners and refrain from dominating conversations.

    Content

    1  Do not post anything that could be interpreted as self-publicity. This includes spamming, posting the same or similar message across many discussions, advertising (including pyramid selling and chain letters), selling or soliciting.
    2  Do not post anything unlawful, do not, for example, send or post material that is private, racist, defamatory, harassing, or threatening. Please also do not post items that are vulgar, profane or obscene.
    3  Do not, under any circumstances, post the personal details of others.
    4  Do not post any third-party material that infringes any legal rights such as copyright or other proprietary rights.
    5  Do not post the contents of private email or other private messages anywhere in the community.

    Please ensure that the content which you post or upload to the Weekender Community remains within the bounds of decency. Images or other content which might prove offensive to others will be immediately removed, and persistent contravention of this House Rule in particular will be met with stringent action. Always bear in mind that your content might be viewed by members of your family and post or upload accordingly. Also bear in mind that everyone has different boundaries; if in doubt, please err on the side of caution.

    In the event of uploading photographs you agree:
    1  That you have reviewed and agree to comply with these House Rules and that you have the rights necessary to authorise Butlins and its designees to copy, distribute, adapt, display, perform and otherwise use the photograph(s) and that you duly grant such authorisation;
    2  that the photograph has not been modified or altered in any manner so as to distort or misrepresent any individual or thing depicted in the photograph;
    3  that the photograph does not contain any personal information such as a name or phone number;
    4  that you will not upload photographs that may offend or disturb other users;
    5  to give Butlins the consent to use your photographs and comments for marketing purposes. We will always contact you before we do so.

    Members responsibility

    Members will:-
    1 Accept responsibility for all the material that they publish in the community.
    2 Always acknowledge the name of the source of any third-party material legitimately quoted or referred to.
    3 Use the log-out button, especially on a public machine, to minimise intruder access.
    4 Keep their password confidential at all times.
    5 Respect the spirit and tone of the Community.

    Members will not:-
    1 Quote any member who specifically requests not to be quoted.
    2 Intentionally misquote another member or any Butlins representative.
    3 Falsely misrepresent themselves or anyone else.
    4 Abuse the facility to send an individual member a personal message; personal messages are subject to all of the same rules as those posted in the visible community.
    5 Disrupt the normal flow of conversations within the Community or act in any way to the detriment of other users.
    6 Act in such a fashion as to demand a disproportionate amount of the attention or time of the Weekender Community Management Team.

    Monitoring

    Please report any transgressions to the Weekender Community Manager, including any misuse of the personal messaging facility and especially offences against decency. Use the "Report this" facility to highlight unsuitable or unwanted content to the Weekender Community Management team.

    Do not misuse the channels for complaint - persistence may result in action by Butlins representatives in respect of your account.

    Butlins representatives reserve the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any user account, at any time, for any reason.
