The Happy Mondays, legends of the Madchester scene were originally discovered by Tony Wilson at his infamous Hacienda nightclub. Their first album debuted in 1987 followed by their second in 1988 and their seminal "Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches" in 1990. Singles "Step On" and "Kinky Afro" thrust them into the mainstream consciousness as they went on to tour and top festival line-ups all over the world. The band split in 1993 with Shaun Ryder and Bez going on to form Black Grape, they temporarily reformed in 1999
