Janice Long joined BBC Radio 1 in 1983 and became the first woman to have her own daily show on the station. Since then she has hosted Top of the Pops and now has her own show on Radio 2. Her ear for great music has seen her give first breaks to legendary acts including The Smiths, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Adele, Scouting for Girls, Richard Hawley and many more. “Her knowledge of music is encyclopaedic; audience engagement remains her motivation.
