Junior Giscombe

London-born singer-songwriter, Junior Giscombe, hit the charts in 1982 with the infectious anthem Mama Used To Say.

The R&B hit made him a household name both in the US and on home territory and prompted his appearance as the first British black artist on US TV series Soul Train.

He went on to win Billboard’s Best Newcomer award and was the opening act for Michael Jackson’s UK tour dates alongside Kim Wilde.
